For the final blog in our Community First blog series we will put our focus on our Flagship branch, Wallkill. With the beautiful weather we have been enjoying and summer’s official appearance next week, we thought we would share some of the awesome things to do OUTDOORS in and around our community!
Fun in the fresh air in Wallkill:
Hit the Trail
The Walden-Wallkill Rail Trail offers over 3 miles of trails spanning from Montgomery – Kingston. The Trail begins in the Village of Walden at the Wooster Grove Park near 52. Once in the Town of Shawangunk you can soak up some history as you stroll by The Original Borden Farm and estate. The trail is perfect for hiking, jogging, bike riding and dog walking, so what are you waiting for? Get out there and enjoy the fresh air!

Take a Hike
With over 100 miles of hiking trails and featuring an awesome waterfall, the Minnewaska State Park Preserve is the place to go if you want to explore The Gunks up close and personal!

Climb a Rock
The Gunks has become one of the most notable locations in North America for rock climbing! There are several different areas but the most popular is The Trapps!
Wallkill Branch Manager Rachel Haygood shared the following about her community:
“Wallkill is a quiet community where everyone knows everyone and looks out for each other. I am fortunate to work in the town where I grew up and went to school. Some of the teachers I had have become customers and I still get to see them. Although I don't live in the town anymore, but because I work here I am able to see my family on a weekly basis and that is so important to me.”
Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan has been a part of the Wallkill community for over 100 years. We encourage everyone to stop by our flagship branch and let us get to know you. We would love to hear from you!
