Community First! Maybrook edition

Part 3 of our Community First blog series will be focusing in on our Maybrook Branch. This week we will be talking about our newest branch locations and hope to give you a glimpse of this close knit community.

In Maybrook we:

Enjoy the Park
Frederick Meyers Veterans Memorial Park and David Weiss memorial Park are both proudly managed by the Village of Maybrook Parks & Recreation Department. Featuring basketball and volleyball courts as well as baseball and soccer fields the park has become a central location for families to come together.  There is also a playground and a beautiful memorial in the park!

Explore Books
Located in the George C. Bullis Memorial Community Center, the Library is an important part of the community.  With access to adult and children’s books as well as DVDs, magazines, audiobooks and CDs, the library provides a great resource for Maybrook families.  The Library also provides a Preschooler Story Time program on Wednesdays.

Tell Stories of the Past
The Railroad Museum of Maybrook honors the memory of the greatest railway yard of the Northeast – The Maybrook Yard.  The museum is located at the Maybrook Government Center and is open from April – October on weekend afternoons.

Maybrook Branch Manager Denise Mathelier shared the following about her community:

“What I love about Maybrook is the sense of community among the people that live and work there.  Everyone from the folks at the Village office to the seniors at the Golden Links look out for their neighbors.  They check in on the sick, provide support and celebrate successes/milestones.  What a great place to raise a family.”

Maybrook is another of the newest of the communities we love to live & work in. Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan encourages you to stop by any one of our branch locations and let us get to know you.  What do you love about Maybrook?  Share it with us.  We would love to hear from you!
